Incident description: improvised explosive device
Master Cpl. Charles-Philippe Michaud was hurt on June 23 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol in the Panjwaii district, southwest of Kandahar city, the Canadian Forces said in a statement.
He was evacuated by helicopter to the coalition medical facility at Kandahar Airfield and then moved to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre in Germany.

Il a été blessé le 23 juin en marchant sur une mine antipersonnel pendant qu’il effectuait une patrouille dans la région de Panjwayi, au sud-ouest de Kandahar City.
Il avait alors été évacué par hélicoptère vers l’installation médicale de la coalition à l’aérodrome de Kandahar et, par la suite, transféré au Centre médical régional de Landstuhl, en Allemagne.
Arrivé à Québec le 28 juin, il a succombé à ses blessures le 4 juillet.
